I often wonder how different a book would end up if I had listened to different songs as I wrote it.  These are the songs I listened to most (pretty much on repeat for 5 months) as I wrote and I think certain aspects of them came through to flavor the mood of the book.  I know for sure I’ll never hear any of them again without remembering what was happening to Allie, Jack and Maggie in Berlin in the winter of 1947.
